Conflicts and natural disasters forced someone to flee within their own country every second of last year, pushing the number of people living in internal displacement to a record high, monitors said Thursday.

But 2020 was also marked by intense storms, persistent conflicts and explosions of violence, forcing 40.5 million people to become newly displaced within their countries, according to a joint report by the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
ATC reserves decision on plea for recording testimonies in Perween Rahman murder case

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has reserved its decision on an application which called for recording the testimonies of the important witnesses named in all five joint investigation teamâs reports made on the Perween Rahman murder case.
The ATC-VII, which is conducting the trial of the high-profile murder case inside the Central Jail Karachi, is likely to pronounce its verdict on the application on the next hearing on May 24, according to lawyer Salahuddin Panhwar who is representing the complainant Aquila Ismail, Perweenâs sister, in this case.
